  • Marketing Poetry

The end has come, the final lecture said
Jessica our prof, the last day dread
That we would forget, all that she taught
How marketing is not just products bought

But we won't forget her lectures yet
For from the first day that we first met
She gave us such hope and happiness that
We actually had fun, looking at her bunny cat
    -----
    Professor Jessica Kwong,
There is nothing you've done wrong,
You lit and showed the way,
How we could work and play

And so in thanks to you,
We'll give our best to do
What you told us that Monday
You cried, but it was okay

    Now our hearts are yours,
    Our souls, open doors
    Because you are the star
    Who shines from afar

    (And don't say Game Over
    I'd like to stay sober!)

  • Summer 2007

ahh, i thought this xanga had died already, but i guess such things last longer than is wont. almost everyone's moved to facebook, but for the few who are left (and as a repository for my thoughts):

i'm in HK right now and loving every minute of it (even those minutes when i'm cramming for a class or sweating like crazy). the students here, the MTR, the tasty food, the aggressive salesmen, the scrumptious food, the japan luvers, the delicious food, the culture, the everything about this place...is simply, undeniably fantastic. if i could speak/read/write cantonese better and had tons of $, i'd love to live in hk.
the only thing is, everything here is really fast-paced, and i'm more of a slower species of man. when i see grandmas and grandpas walking faster than i can sprint, i become painfully aware of my large trunk space & low horsepower and fuel economy...sounds like my mercury mountaineer.

i also miss my cistercian brothers and teachers. i still wake up sometimes and rush to my car downstairs, thinking i'm late to school. it's still a bit unreal, knowing that i will never be in that same old classroom setting, cracking jokes and being altogether foolish with the guys...because everyone will grow up and move on. but--will they remember? will they reminisce and long for those times of old? will they still retain their innocence, or will the world twist them as i fear? what will happen after these next four, eight, twenty, thirty years remains to be seen, but i sincerely hope my brothers never let go of the virtue and character that shaped their high school years.

hopefully after 4 years, i'll be able to see everyone @ the reunion and witness everybody's progress with my own eyes. abola and chase will have conquered princeton athletics...warner and willy will have already made millions at stanford...wang&co. will have h4x0r3d rice...d-ray will have made his army of genetic mutants at emory...and escoto will have blasted MIT into space, screaming 'wowzerz!' & 'explosions!' along the way. i wonder how i'll turn out? XP

anyways, best of luck to all, especially those in cps, merit gavel club/chinese school, and children's hosp. who are following my footsteps. i'll be sure to visit whenever possible~and watch out for gorillas!

    pacem vobiscum,
    alex
